Samuel S. Haldeman (1812-1880) was a distinguished scientist, author and leading authority on natural history and the ethnic development of languages and phonics. Haldeman was born in this 1782 federal-style home, overlooking the Susquehanna River. Dozens of staff members, maintenance crews and guests have all reported similar alleged sightings.
