There are several thousand kilometers of ocean between Greenland and Denmark. Our two countries are very different, but we're part of each other's destiny. In the series 'Historien om Grønland og Danmark', we will travel through the footprints of some of the events and the people, who has shaped the Greenlandic-Danish history, and has relived it close at heart. From the first meeting in 1721, when the priest Hans Egede took the first step on 'The Island of Hope', till the battle for self-determination and Home Rule in 1979. The series is being presented by actors and our two hosts Nukâka Coster-Waldau and Lars Mikkelsen, who with each of their own views - a Greenlandic and a Danish - invites the audience to participate on a gripping and ruthless journey through history.
