E3Episode 3MZH performs an autopsy and reveals to Lord Ding that he may have been the target of the poisoning. She also lets him know that it can only be someone that knows about his medical history. The only people that know such details are in the Royal Family. MZH runs into Princess Rouhua in order to escape from her pursuers. The Princess finds her clever and invites her to the scholarly tea house. - Episode 4
E4Episode 4At the tea house, the scholarly question is whether Lord Ding, referred to as a "tiger", should be tamed. Scholar Shen argues that he should be used to keep fear in the common people. MZH secretly writes that he should be set free. When she shows her answer to Lord Ding, she does it in a way to make it seem like she is working for Lord Ding. The people sent to capture her to become a concubine back off for fear of Lord Ding's ire. - Episode 5
E5Episode 5Lord Ding wants to know how MZH knows about the Revival Powder. He is still suspicious of her. He takes her to the mountains to perform another autopsy. She discovers acupuncture marks as well as a claw-like weapon on the bones of the Deputy General. He was Courtesan Lou's father. Lord Ding is trying to find the reason Deputy General Lou betrayed him. - Episode 6
E6Episode 6After inspection of the body, they get attacked by masked men. At the last minute, the Shadow Guards save them. Ding deduces the attack was orchestrated by Empress Dowager and he was saved by the Emperor, his brother. MZH falls ill with a fever and Ding takes care of her for two days. He then accompanies her to the Imperial Exam. - Episode 9
E9Episode 9During the palace exam, someone knocks over MZH's ink bottle. With half a page, she collects herself and finishes the answer. The answer is compelling enough to meet with the emperor and finish the answer orally. She makes it to the top three and attends a banquet in honor of those in the top three. - Episode 11
E11Episode 11At a gathering of colleagues, a misunderstanding leads to rumors of a tryst between Official Shen and MZH. The Princess does not believe these rumors and Lord Ding doesn't either. At her first lesson as the Imperial Tutor, a fight breaks out between the Crown Prince and Third Prince. The Crown Prince's vessel gets cut, but MZH is able to stop the bleeding.
