Robert and Ariane Hambach, 'attracted opposites', boarded to seek a common interest on marriage counselor's advise, but nothing works, except perhaps dancing, only Ariane feels his elbow and gets jealous of his great dance with a local other in Montevideo, then finds her own dance match in the hotel. Back aboard they avoid each-other, but she finds the red dress Robert brought along, which she wore as they met. Fellow teachers Joachim Wicker and Thomas Voss's friendship broke up as both tried in vain to become principal, yet booked together and rival for passenger Lale Hansen, whose husband dumped her after 25 years, which proves painful, even requires Doktor Sander's help, complete with courting advice. The trio unexpectedly all booked the same rough excursion to a winery Estancia (ranch) with a sexy gaucho, which brings more pain, and it goes on back aboard. Mystery illness-terminal passenger Caroline Helmer booked her last-ever voyage to make up with estranged daughter Nadine, but didn't count on the captain being her near-altar-dumped fiance Victor Burger, who learns after a happy day she's terminal and has a daughter, yet manages a reconciliation. Schifferle and Sander assume Beatrice's recently acquired Italian house is a ruin, and commandeer crew to fix "Casa sul Vento".
