The Odd life of Shay Little is a 90's style sitcom based around the concept similar to the Odd Couple and 2 and a Half men. A father and step-father come together due to life circumstances to raise a daughter. The father is a rapper/videographer and the step father is more of a techie/metro-sexual type of man. The 2 men are completely opposite personalities up to and including racially, the father is black and the step-father is white. The father, Darius Little, and mother, Dionna Little, had a relationship in which Shay was born however the parents decided to co-parent. Early in Shays life Dionna met, fell in love, and married Milton Goodman. Dionna also joined the military and because of this the family moved away from San Antonio. Fast forward 13 years and Dionna goes missing in action resulting in Milton and Shay needing to move back to San Antonio. The father allows his daughter to move in with him without hesitation. Milton however tries to find a place to live and is unsuccessful; Shay convinces her father Darius to allow Milton to move in until he can get on his feet thus setting up the show and the misunderstandings that happen because of their differences. Darius is an aspiring entertainer who both raps and does videography along with his best friend Ricky who is an energetic comedic presence on the show that is quick witted and never without a comeback. Aunt Pat is the wise aunt that helps in guiding her nephew and her grand-niece through the complexities of life. Darrell "Da Real" Johnson is the friend that is always grinding and has a different job per episode.
