Raine Whispers has become the new head of the bard coven, since Scooter Crane has retired from the coven. Eda reveals to Luz and King that Raine used to be her lover, but the two had grown apart because of her rebellious behavior towards the Emperor's Coven and Raine is trying to protect Eda from Belos. It is soon discovered that Raine is leading a bard resistance against the emperor.
