Jackson was hardly a Hollywood name before he met Quentin Tarantino who cast him as a philosophical hit man in "Pulp Fiction." Alan Rickman was a stuffy stage actor until he faced off against Bruce Willis in "Die Hard." And Michael Madsen shook being a stereotypical bad guy to play a criminal with a conscience in "Kill Bill".
