The Simonetta Lein Show

Afroman

S3 • E19    Jul 22, 2021
Welcome back to The Simonetta Lein Show. Today's episode will be very upbeat and exciting as I welcome Los Angeles' very own Joseph Foreman, better known as Afroman. A Grammy-nominated American rapper, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Joseph is known for his iconic songs "Because I Got High" and "Crazy Rap," featured on his album The Good Times. He has worked with some of the industry's biggest names, including hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg. With a multi-decade career, he continues to perform for his dedicated fan base with his classic hits. Afroman joins me today to talk about all things music and his early career, how he feels the music industry has evolved over the years, and what his infamous hit "Because I Got High" means to him today. It is an inspiring and fun episode you will not want to miss. Tune in. Fun Facts: We both miss the old-school days of rap when rhyme ruled and cassettes kept music alive. My husband used to sing Afroman's hit "Because I Got High" to me all the time, making it a household favorite. Afroman shared that when he is called a one-hit wonder-despite his extensive career-his response is simple: "How many hits do you need?" It only takes one to open the doors. Thank you to the beautifully dedicated SLTV team.
