Welcome back to #TheSimonettaLeinShow. Today's episode is an absolute pleasure as I welcome Karyn Parsons' co-star, the beloved Geoffrey from the iconic The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Joseph Marcell. Originally, Joseph hails from St. Lucia and has worked as a revered theatre actor for 50 years. He has appeared in over 100 plays, from London's West End, Broadway, and a world tour theatre production with The London Globe Theatre. Most recently, he can be seen on Netflix in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, and in a fantastic role in Ryan Murphy's hit series RATCH-ED, alongside the incredible Sarah Paulson. Joseph joined the show to discuss how his love for live performance came to be, breaking cultural stigmas in the world of film and theater, and opening doors for British actors in American entertainment. He is a true inspiration and an absolute joy to have on the show. Fun Facts: Joseph fell in love with theater by chance, during a night out on the town with his friends at 18. He also told me how Will Smith and the gang reunited and visited their old Bel-Air home just last year; DJ Jazzy Jeff got the invite this time. Joseph left me with a beautiful piece of advice: "You have to pursue the dream in order to become the best at whatever it is you attempt!"
