Welcome back to #TheSimonettaLeinShow, today's episode will be very compelling as I welcome the President of the Los Angeles Lakers, Jeanie Buss. Prior to joining the Lakers, Buss spent four years as President of the #GreatWesternForum. She began her career at the age of 19 as the General Manager of World Team Tennis' Los Angeles Strings. In 1993, Buss brought professional roller hockey to Los Angeles as the owner of the LA Blades. Jeanie is currently also using her experience and expertise to lead a revival of Women of Wrestling - WOW Superheroes. In 2020, she became the first female Governor to win an NBA Championship, as the Lakers tied a league record with their 17th title. Jeanie represents the Lakers on the NBA's Board of Governors and is currently a member of the NBA Advisory and Finance Committee and the NBA Labor Committee. Jeanie joined me today to discuss how her family broke into the entertainment and sports industry, what it's like to work with the top professional athletes in the world, from Lebron James to Shaquille O'Neal, and how the Los Angeles Lakers community connected during the loss of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant.
