YAM became the leader of the 'Five Mountains’ after he had defeated QUIN, he then ordered the Clans of 'Five Mountains' to send their representatives up the 'Mount Chiu Yeung' to give him a hero worship.

Meanwhile YAM suggested the union of 'Sun Moon Clan' and 'Han Shan Clan', but got refused by LING. Angrily, YAM led his fellower s to invade 'Han Shan Clan'.
