When Caroline gets a letter from Tom's teacher saying that he is too studious and should take up physical exercise Charlie trains him as a gymnast. With Caroline away on business Charlie,Laura and Jo go to support him at an inter-school gymnastic contest where Tom breaks his arm. Caroline blames Charlie but Laura makes her see that Tom has only inherited his mother's competitive spirit.
