Derrick Campana of Bionic Pets makes prosthetics for animals. He has treated over 25,000 animals including dogs, cats, sheep, goat, llama and a few elephants. Each episode tells two of these stories. One is told during a family's appointment at his office. In the second story, he and his dog Henry travel to the home of a different patient where he uses his mobile workshop to help that animal walk again.

Loretta the Miniature ZebuAt the Lazy J Rescue Ranch in Humboldt, Iowa, Derrick helps a miniature zebu cow named Loretta regain mobility after an accident caused permanent damage to one of her front legs. Derrick also builds a prosthetic for a Doberman Pinscher named Holly.
