Tommy visits the Alaqua Animal Refuge to meet rescue animals of all shapes, sizes and species. Alaqua is home to hundreds of rescue animals ranging from dogs, cats, horses, parrots, turkeys, tortoises and many more. Of the thousands of animals that founder Laurie Hood and her team have saved, this episode explores two particularly heartwarming stories. The first is Barely, a dog who, as his name suggests, barely survived his traumatic past only to land in a loving forever home with a woman who made her own remarkable recovery from trauma.
