New Year's Eve proves to be anything but quiet for the two truckers. Their journey is interrupted first by a roadside accident involving an overturned car, and then by a traffic officer who begs them to detour to a holiday cottage settlement to help residents who have lost power. With their families waiting at home and the countdown to 2005 ticking away, Ivanych and Sashok work tirelessly to restore the electricity. Though they miss their original plans, they celebrate the holiday twice: first with the grateful neighbors they rescued, and finally together in the cabin of their KamAZ.
