Ivan and Stanislav join the trucking depot. Ivan sets off on a haul to Kazakhstan with his father, Fyodor. Being a collector of bladed weapons, Ivan buys an antique saber for a bargain at a local market and hides it in the truck without telling his dad. The trip takes a dark turn at the Orenburg customs office when inspectors discover heroin hidden inside the truck's frame. Mistakenly believing his father is involved, Ivan flees the checkpoint to draw the heat and take the blame himself. Fyodor tries to protect his son, but the authorities can see that neither man knew about the drugs. Stanislav is dispatched to Orenburg to recover the cargo; along the way, he links up with Ivan, and the two begin their own investigation to clear the family name.
