As Luna, Bell and Howard head deeper into the Eastern Forest, Shingo works on the communication system back at the house, but is frustrated that he doesn't have enough parts. Shingo and Chako return to the shuttle for more parts, but Shingo gets angry at Chako's dismissive attitude. Later, he tries to operate the communications device using Chako as a power supply, but is unsuccessful.
