You don't find them much more Rotterdam than actor Hans Kesting, who has been living in Amsterdam for a long time. Whole generations of Hans' ancestors populated the Maasstad, sometimes in great poverty and with a whole host of illegitimate children. Great is his surprise when family history takes him abroad and his ancestors turn out to be a lot more adventurous than expected.
