Veronika returns to her hometown to avenge the death of her father, who died many years ago under strange circumstances-he fell into the water while boating with his newlywed wife. Karina was a suspect, but the investigation stalled, the case was closed, and Veronica was sent to an orphanage, leaving her an orphan. In her hometown, Veronika meets her first love, Pavel, a friend she had known since the orphanage. The young couple realizes their feelings for each other haven't faded. Learning that Karina's house is looking for a housekeeper, Veronika sees this as a chance-she deliberately takes the job at her stepmother's house. Step by step, Veronika moves closer to realizing her plan-to expose Karina and see her brought to justice. It seems nothing can stop Veronika's quest for revenge, but love gets in the way.
