S8 • E10 May 17, 2007 23mKevin is surprised that Kristof gets a visit from Karen, the lady manager of posh restaurant 'De Gouden Pollepel' (Dutch for The Golden Ladle), who looks down on them once she sees they're grease-monkeys; told he shouldn't get his hands dirty any more, Kristof tries to work in surgeons dress, but she really wants him to go into the hospitality industry too, so Kevin tries to teach him table manners. Hélène is still sweet to René, but even more eager to spend money they don't have (on his credit card!) then his first wife Magda; he suggests her to get a job for financial independence, but is worried when he hears she can actually become assistant manager of a high executive in a major firm, which includes traveling, so he offers her daily management in charge of the staff, which she considers too good to turn down. The staff considers it a nightmare, and even René himself is practically reduced to housekeeping. After another cooking disaster he takes her to diner in De Gouden Pollepel, where she accepts to step down so he can return; just then Kristof must take his waiter-test, and they are his clients; trying to hide his face, he messes up, and is fired on both spots...
