While Malay sits silently, his mother gets him the dress that she wants him to wear for the occasion of his engagement with Kanika. Kalpana's mother reminds Kalpana that if Kanika and Malay do get engaged, her entire plan will be ruined. Kalpana, however, is certain that Malay will not be backing away from his love for Aprajita and her plan can never be foiled. Later, the engagement ceremony begins and Kanika puts the ring around Malay's finger. However, when it is Malay's turn, he says that he has forgotten the ring and decides to go to his room. Will this engagement will take place at all?
