In St. Petersburg, an attempt is made on the life of a well-known crime boss, the owner of an underground casino network - Yuriy Sergeev. A casual passer-by unexpectedly intervenes in what is happening, who rebuffs the killer. The criminal was killed, and a passer-by, who turned out to be thirty-year-old Kirill Borzov, who had recently arrived in the city from the provinces, received an offer from Sergeev to work in his security service.
