In fact she realizes she was cheated, but continues to act crazy and hires a new male nurse as accomplice for elaborate revenge. She spares neither Max, who offers to take her in, nor Iris's twins, one of which can't tolerate sun light. Roland finally realizes what a loveless monster Iris is.
