One such recently discovered locale lay 2,200 feet under the ocean, just off the western tip of Cuba. In 2001, oceanographer Paulina Zelitsky made the discovery of a lifetime when her sonar screens displayed the ghostly images of what appear to be megalithic structures; now estimated to be 50,000 years old.
