Season 1
Miyuki, a single mother and nursery teacher, meets Sri Lankan Kumara while visiting Tohoku as a disaster volunteer. A year later, the two of them who fulfilled a fateful reunion are gradually attracted to each other. Straightforward and charming, Kumara quickly becomes friends with Miyuki's daughter, Maya, and eventually, the three begin to live together like a family. Miyuki and Kumara exchange promises of marriage, but it is short-lived happiness.

E1Episode 1Single mother and nursery school teacher Miyuki meets Sri Lankan Kumara while doing volunteer work after the 2011 disaster, and they reunite by chance a year later. Kumara has been working at a car repair factory in a nearby town. Miyuki initially hesitates at Kumara's eager attempts to court her, but the two slowly grow close, and build a family-like relationship with Miyuki's daughter Maya. When Maya enters middle school, Kumara finally proposes to Miyuki. - Episode 2

Maya, who loves to draw, decides to apply for an art high school. At the same time, the factory Kumara works for goes bankrupt, and the marriage is put on hold. - Episode 3

Miyuki visits Uehara, who has quit his job at the Bureau. The situation reaches a stalemate, and with provisional release once again rejected, Kumara collapses due to poor health. Wanting to prove that her family is genuine, Maya asks to appear as a witness in court. - Episode 5
E5Episode 5Miyuki's mother Matsuko visits from Yamagata to help Miyuki and her family. The court case begins, and Miyuki is questioned by Urabe, the lawyer representing Japan. When Maya steps up as a witness, her words change the atmosphere in the room. Kumara pleads his love for his family as well. Eventually, the day of the decision arrives.
