During the 1920s, they are forced to leave home to attend high school and their parents have decided they will board together. They travel hundreds of miles from the tiny settlement of Coolawong, deep in the Australian Outback, to a big country town where the girls will begin a new life with a new family.

The girls all decide to get their cooking badge next which will require them to go into the bush to catch a rabbit, kill it, skin it and finally prepare it for Miss Pittman. They think it will be an easy task, until they see how cute the bunnies are.

Jimmy's basketball team is on the wane so when Molly accidentally drops by during practice and teaches them to play properly, Jimmy has the great idea to add her to the team. He even dresses her up like a boy - with matching haircut - to get her on the court for their next game.
