E1Episode 1Commissioner Adamsberg is contacted by Franck Mathieu, who informs him of the death of a certain Gaël, a gamekeeper, near Combourg, in Brittany. The speed with which he intends to take up the investigation astonishes his collaborators, Danglard. Froissy and Retancourt, who drew his attention to the fact that the case did not fall within their jurisdiction. Adamsberg reminds them that two years earlier he had worked with Mathieu on a complex case that had resulted in the arrest of a serial killer. This investigation had allowed them to forge bonds of mutual respect close to friendship... - Episode 2
E2Episode 2Adamsberg and Mathieu know that the gamekeeper was the victim of a serial killer. They still have to discover the motive of the psychopath if they want to give themselves a chance to apprehend him before he can harm again by committing more crimes. It appears that the key to the enigma is to be found in the folklore of the region. To immerse himself in the murderer's state of mind, Adamsberg begins to meditate, lying on a dolmen, hoping that the old stones, full of history and magic, will provide him with the answers to his questions. It could well be granted with an intuition that seems to come from elsewhere.
