Season 3

Robson Green explores the region known as "Britain's best-kept secret". This series reveals why the county of his birth still remains for him a magical and mysterious ancient kingdom. He immerses himself in the unique experiences it has to offer, camping wild in the most remote spot in Britain, stargazing into the darkest skies in England and exploring the rich and deep history of a county which has its own flag, along with iconic locations such as Holy Island and Hadrian's Wall.

    Up in the AirRobson Green gets a Glider lesson and soars over College Valley and a Hill Fort in the Cheviot Hills, Robson takes a helicopter ride over a Lancelot Capability Brown Garden, who also came from Northumberland. Robson visits a farm with more than 350 combine harvesters.

Off the coast of Blyth, he is shown the ropes on board a 100-year-old tall ship. At Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Robson discovers how the community choir are turning stories of the town's seafaring past into song. Finally, he heads to Druridge Bay to meet one of the region's last traditional blacksmiths.

    The Mighty TyneIn this sixth episode, Robson is travelling along the route of the mighty Tyne - a river steeped in history and tradition. His journey starts close to the border with Scotland at Kielder Water and Forest Park, where he has a messy encounter with some rare osprey chicks and learns about the plight of the river's salmon. Robson visits Cherryburn, former home of one of Britain's greatest wildlife illustrators, Thomas Bewick. Finally, Robson joins the Tyne Rowing Club and learns the story of the great North-East rower Harry Clasper.

    The Great WhinsillIn today's episode, Robson is travelling along the route of the Great Whinsill, the rock formations that give Northumberland its distinctive rugged landscape. His journey begins at The Farne Islands, with the story of Grace Darling, the lighthouse keeper's daughter whose act of heroism made her one of the biggest ‘celebrities' of the Victorian age. Robson pays a visit to Alnwick Castle, where he is given a tour of a poison garden by the Duchess Of Northumberland and joins in a traditional game of Shrovetide Football. Robson's journey ends at Hadrian's Wall where he tries his hand at making Roman pottery.

    Episode 8In the last episode of the series, Robson travels along the sweeping sands of the coastline between Howick and Bamburgh. He joins a wild food expert and goes foraging in rock pools for ingredients to cook up for his supper, before camping out on the beach. At Beadnell Bay he tries the fast-paced sport of kite buggying and pays a visit to the wildlife rangers who are taking care of one of Britain's rarest nesting seabirds, the Little Tern.
