The Dick Tracy Show
Season 1
Cartoon series produced by UPA, in which Dick Tracy (voiced by the distinguished film and stage actor Everett Sloane) played more or less of an incidental role. Most of the crime fighting was left to his assistants, all originals created for the series: Hemlock Holmes (an English bulldog who talked like Cary Grant), the calorically challenged beat cop Heap O'Calorie (who talked like Andy Devine), and the offensively (today) stereotyped Latino and Asian characters Go-Go Gomez and Joe Jitsu, respectively. Most of the familiar Tracy villains from the comic strip (Flattop, Mumbles, Pruneface, etc.) were featured here, as well. In addition to Sloane, such talented voice persons and character actors as Benny Rubin, Paul Frees, and Mel Blanc handled much of the voice-work for this series.

In the end, the pair are foiled by Oodles, who stupidly drinks the formula, turning himself into a fat rubber man who is easily bested by the detective. - Steamboat Steal
E77Steamboat StealSketch Paree and the Mole have taken over a Mississippi showboat and turned it into an illegal gambling vessel. Dick Tracy sends Go Go Gomez to stop the two thugs. With the help of a custom slot machine (replete with machine gun firing lever), Go Go apprehends the pair and turns them over to the authorities. - The Great Whodunit

The pair are forcing the entertainer to teach them his escape secrets so that they can commit crimes without any interference from Dick Tracy and his squad. Tracy sends Go Go Gomez to avert this catastrophe. He does so by tricking the crooks into placing their fingers into Chinese finger cuffs. - The Skyscraper Caper

In order to make their getaway easier, the two crooks kidnap Dick Tracy and they taken him on flight 22; they plan to drop him into the sea. Tracy contacts Go Go Gomez on his wrist radio using Morse code. Go Go has the airport's radio operator intercept the code and the airlines pilots help save Tracy from the duo. - Small Time Crooks
E86Small Time CrooksThe Brow and Oodles have stolen Dr. Von Schnooker's supply of shrinking pills. The pair plots to have Oodles (now shrunk to the size of a mouse) break into Spiffany's Jewelry Store and steal all of the store's gems. With the aid of a cat, a diminutive Joe Jitsu foils the fiends and turns them over to Dick Tracy. - Evil Eye Guy
E87Evil Eye GuySketch Paree is using hypnosis to manipulate innocent victims into committing crimes. Hemlock Holmes is sent to the theater, where Sketch is posing as a stage entertainer, to stop him. But the crafty fellow uses his powers to hypnotize the cop into stealing cash from the First National Bank. Tracy realizes that his assistant is in trouble. He heads for the theater, where he saves Hemlock and captures Sketch Paree. - Feathered Frenzy
E89Feathered FrenzyStooge Villa and Mumbles have fixed the big rooster fight between Killer Cock and Skinny Kitty. The villains feed knock-out pills to the champ so he'll fall asleep and loose to the challenger. Dick Tracy sends Go Go Gomez to stop them. Go Go foils the pair by feeding knock out pills to Stooge Villa and Mumbles. - Down the Drain
E91Down the DrainSketch Paree and The Mole have stolen a secret weapons- a collection of super bombs disguised as apples- and are hiding in the sewers of Paris. The crooks give Joe Jitsu one of the bombs, which creates a massive explosion that causes a flood that sends the trio into the river and into the hands of Dick Tracy and the authorities. - Air Freight Fright
E94Air Freight FrightPruneface and Itchy have stolen the U.S. Government's experiential jet, the XYZ-15. Dick Tracy send Joe Jitsu to stop the fiends. Jitsu clobbers he crooks but he can't fly the plane. Tracy tries to talk Joe down. Joe lands safely in a haystack and turns the crooks over to Tracy. - The Castle Caper
E95The Castle CaperPruneface and Itchy are using an old castle on a South Sea isle to create and utilize a dangerous collection of atomic explosives for world conquest. Dick Tracy and Go Go Gomez head for the isle. There Go Go, clad in medieval amour, foils the two fiends and turns them over to Tracy and the local authorities. - The Manor Monster

Once in his control, Pruneface will extract the law enforcer's crime-fighting secrets via a brain transfer device. E103Lumber ScampsThe Brow and Oodles are robbing the city's lumberyard. Dick Tracy sends Hemlock Holmes to prevent the theft, but the fiends capture the cop. They tie him to a buzz saw. Realizing that a member of his squad is in trouble, Tracy heads out to the yard and saves Hemlock by turning off the machine with a trick shot. The Brow and Oodles are captured in a logjam. - Football Brawl
E105Football BrawlPruneface and Itchy disrupt the big football game between the Lions and the Beavers. They use an air suction gun to aide the players in gliding over the goalpost and make a win, so they can win their bets on the game. Joe Jitsu grabs the two villains and turns them over to Tracy. - A Case for Alarm
E107A Case for AlarmGo Go Gomez returns to the United States on a ship with a rare, diamond-studded alarm clock. B.B. Eyes and Flattop try to steal the expensive timepiece. After a chase all over the deck, the two crooks try to throw the clock overboard to prevent capture by Dick Tracy. Luckily, Go Go grabs the clock just as it's about to be thrown into the drink and helps Tracy take the pair into custody. - Ghostward Ho!
E108Ghostward Ho!Someone is trying to scare a retired lawman out of his estate and steal his silver. Dick Tracy and Hemlock Holmes head out West to find out who is behind the events. It turns out that Stooge Villa and Mumbles are frightening the old man with film and recorded images of ghosts, witches, cannons and other things. But Tracy breaks into the house and exposes the scam. As the two cops take the villains away, the former cop reveals that he is The Lone Stranger, and that his "Silver" is actually his horse. - Two Goons in the Fountain
E110Two Goons in the FountainPruneface and Itchy are stealing from a fountain at St. Peter's in Rome. Dick Tracy sends Charlie out to bring them in. The two criminals attack Charlie from the fountain. Dick assigns Joe Jitsu to help the Italian police chief foil the two villains' scheme. It turns out that the Italian police chief's pet electric eel is the biggest help in sending the two villains to jail. - The Monkey Tale
E111The Monkey TaleTwo crooks are stealing from patrons on the streets. Dick Tracy sends Hemlock Holmes to stop the crime. The ones behind the thefts turn out to be Sketch Paree and the Mole. The pair are picking pockets in the guise of an organ grinder and his monkey. Hemlock thwarts them and turns them over to Tracy. - The Pigeon Coup

Operating as "The Pigeon," they use a carrier pigeon with threatening notes to extort money from well-to-do pet shop owners. The message to one: "Return four hundred with pigeon or we will spike your penguin food." Dick Tracy assigns Joe Jitsu to capture the two crooks. - The Old Mummy Case

Tracy creates a ploy to have Go Go Gomez impersonate a millionaire. Gomez advertises that he is trying to locate his missing parent. Buying into the sting, the Brow and Oodles invite the two detectives to their lair. There, Go Go and Tracy wrap up The Old Mummy Case in a snap. - Island Racket

Once on scene, the little police detective finds out that Pruneface and Itchy are selling phony islands to unsuspecting victims. Go Go foils the crooks plot by puncturing the inflatable island and turning the pair over to the local authorities. - The Bird Brain Pickers
E122The Bird Brain PickersStooge Villa and Mumbles have stolen a rare parrot worth millions of dollars. Dick Tracy assigns Hemlock Holmes and the Retouchables to return the parrot and capture the two crooks. Hemlock foils the villains by disguising himself as the parrot and bringing the thugs into Tracy's dragnet... but in the process, two of the members of the Retouchables have captured the disguised Hemlock and hold him for the wagon! - The Lie Detector
E124The Lie DetectorNot having enough evidence that Stooge Villa and Mumbles have stolen Whistler's mother's rocking chair, Dick Tracy has Hemlock Holmes bring the two in for interrogation. Believing that they can beat the rap, the pair agree to a lie detector test. But Dick Tracy's lie detector soon bests Stooge and Mumbles. - Crime Flies
E128Crime FliesStooge Villa and Mumbles steal one-man helicopters from an air force base. Their plan: to steal from the wealthy residents of The Smetherly Wilshire Hotel. Joe Jitsu foils the two crooks by using mental telepathy to brainwash the pair into thinking that they're double crossing each other, destroy their copters' mechanisms and jump off the rooftop of the hotel and into the arms of Dick Tracy. - The Chinese Cookie Caper
E130The Chinese Cookie CaperStooge Villa and Mumbles are smuggling rare pearls and hiding them inside Chinese fortune cookies at an abandoned restaurant in Chinatown. Dick Tracy send Hemlock Holmes to find them. Hemlock stops at the restaurant for food and he becomes suspicious of the waiter. Stooge and Mumbles (the waiter in disguise) are about to carve up Hemlock with a meat cleaver. Tracy comes in and foils the villains by shooting a hole in one of the barrels of fortune cookies... which buries the crooks.
