The KGSA Foundation was founded in 2002 as a soccer program to get girls off the streets and later evolved into a holistic and free high school that serves 130 girls every year in Kibera, Kenya. I am honored to have Richard Teka, the director of KGSA, and three KGSA alumni, Asha Jaffar, Beatrice Awino, and Aisha Ali. KGSA's model cares for the whole girl - academics, extra-curricular programs, nutrition, health care, mentorship, and college scholarships. KGSA harnesses the power of the #GirlEffect to unlock each girl's potential and provide her the opportunity to shape her own future. KGSA is a feature organization of the Girls Opportunity Alliance at the Obama Foundation and has been recognized by Under Armour.
